The iPhone Dev Team finally managed to jailbreak the newly released iPhone 4S. The news comes directly from MuscleNerd’s Twitter timeline where he showed some screenshots of Cydia installed on an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.

Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 with Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12. Few days ago I showed you the possibility to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 with Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 and PwnageTool 4.3 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G and iPad. iOS 4.3.2 still exploitable with i0n1c's untethered exploit. But till now this is still tethered jailbreak which means that you will have to boot your iOS device in tethered state every reboot.

For years the members of the Dev-team have provided us with easy ways to jailbreak and unlock our Phones. Almost like clock work they produced the tools for us to liberate our phones. We trusted them, did our best not to bother them when the tools took longer than what we wanted, and rejoiced them when the tools were released. And best of all they did it for free.

The iPhone Dev Team has just released Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 which brings untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 so you don't need to plug in your iPhone every time you reboot it. Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 is based on i0n1c's untethered exploit. Check out the supported devices after the jump.

After showing off his iPod being jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1, the iPhone security expert Seten Esser yesterday tweeted that the has been handed over to iPhone-Dev Team who are currently testing it in its beta stages and maybe out anytime soon after its successful testing on their Redsnow or PwnageTool.
