Apple Patents: The LiquidiMetal will be used to create fuel cells?
Thursday, January 06, 2011
Recently, Apple has managed to file a new patent which appears for the first time Liquidmetal, a special metal alloy from amorphous amazing mechanical properties of which we have already spoken in the past. The curious thing is that in the patent to which the function is associated with the Liquidmetal has nothing to do with the creation of a particular casing of a future iPhone: the reference is in fact related to the development of a new kind of power source, fuel cells.
The Liquidmetal, in this case, it may in fact be the means by which such fuel cells could be realized in the future. Miniature fuel cells have great autonomy far more than current batteries, the problem is that, until now, nobody has found a way to achieve them.
However, if a company could in this particular company, could provide the market with devices that have the highest autonomy in terms of energy. It can therefore be assumed that the LiquiMetal can become an essential element for the success of these new cells. Not having the necessary knowledge in this specific field, we can not understand how these fuel cells actually work and, more importantly, how they can be recharged. If someone bring himself to propose a hypothesis can leave a comment at the end of article.
