Many original iPad 3G owners are probably anticipating transferring their current data plans to their new iPad 2. While we previously confirmed this could easily be accomplished by calling AT&T, there is now a quicker solution.

You can also migrate your data plan online, according to a tip provided by Victor Cajiao on Twitter. Best of all, you won’t lose your unlimited data plan by doing so.

To perform the switch, visit the linked AT&T website. From there, be sure to login using your email and password. You can also activate new service using this site.

Next, you will need to change your iDevice information, including its IMEI and ICCID numbers. These can be found in the settings app on your new iPad 2, under Generalthen About.

Of course, if you still wish to speak to a live person, you can do so. Simply call AT&T at 1-800-331-0500. Let them know you would like to transfer your data plan from your original iPad to your new iPad 2.
