Remote Unlocking for iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4
Thursday, April 14, 2011
One of the most recent websites to take the spotlight from the jailbreaking community was,

CutYourSim.com, which states that it provides a mean for users to remotely unlock (permanently) their iPhone 3, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4s also!
According to the website, who are responsible for making SIM cutters, the “official iPhone” unlock is supposed to unlock the iOS device, upgrade it to the latest firmware available on any carrier without having to wait for any unlock by jailbreaking developers.
The website reads:
The unlock will work with any iPhone version, and any baseband version, no need to worry about updating to the latest version anymore.
The iPhone-Dev Team seems to be following this path and testing the solution themselves to find a success. The unlock costs around $169 (expensive indeed) for each device. The only way this method could be accomplished was if CutYourSim.com had access to Apple’s database servers, or any carriers backend servers. From there they might have whitelisted the device IMEI easily allowing the phone to run on any network, anywhere at any time!
However, we do urge our readers to hold on a month before going for this method as once Apple discovers this they will surely take an action against this, and by the looks of it; a legal action could be filed if Apple deemed the unlocking solution un-appropriate.
