Microsoft Plans Major Windows Phone 7 Upgrade
Monday, May 23, 2011
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the Windows Phone 7 smartphone platform will get 500 new features. He didn't get into details on this update but promised to reveal more on Tuesday at a scheduled event in New York.
Some features were leaked in a developer's podcast last week. Those include Windows Live Messenger, Facebook Chat and AIM integration in the Messaging Hub, as well as group messaging. Turn-by-turn navigation is also on the table, along with SMS dictation and iPhone-like visual voicemail. We will have full details of all the updates soon. Stay Tuned.
