Not only did Apple release Mac OS X Lion GM seed today, but it also pushed out another developer preview of Xcode. Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 7 is now available for download to all those enrolled in Apple's developer programs.

Xcode is used for development of apps for both Mac OS and iOS platforms. Xcode is used by developers registered in the developer programs of Apple. This particular Xcode version is a pre-release version of Xcode.

For Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 7 to function correctly, you need to have the GM seed of Mac OS X Lion installed on your Mac machine. Otherwise, even if you are a registered developer, you will not be able to use Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 7 until and unless you update to Mac OS X Lion GM seed.

For submitting iOS or Mac apps in their respective stores, continue to use Xcode 3.2.5 or Xcode 4 in the Mac OS X Snow Leopard partition. Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 7 is now available for download to all developers in the Mac Dev Center.
