Exactly 3 years before a giant Application store was introduce by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, for his iDevices on 10th July 2008. As the App Store was launched, Apple launched its new phone model iPhone 3G on 11th July 2009. there was a total redesign in iPhone2G and iPhone3G. for the first time the icon of App Store was seen in the new iPhone running on iOS 2.0.

As Apple has always been famous for innovations, in the same way the term “app” was introduced by Apple that has become the mostly used word in reference to iDevices. The growth in the increase of apps on App Store has been tremendous; the first achievement was shown to the world when the number of downloaded apps from App Store hit 1 billion in only 9 months. The progress did not stop here and it counted to 5 billions apps after 1 year and 11 months. After the passage of 2 years and 6 months the number reached 10 billions app. And now finally on its 3rd Birthday Apple hit 15 billions downloads.

Apple has been trend setter in technology and others have been following it. As Apple started it App Store other famous mobile companies of the world started following it. Blackberry started App World. Then Google launched Android market to support apps for Android Phones. Nokia the world leading mobile company also started Ovi Store. There are total 500,00 apps on App Store and Developers have earned $2.5 billion.
