Search Google Straight From iOS 5 Notification Center With StatusGoogle

iOS 5 is out in beta and it seems like people other than developers are also getting there hands on it, all thanks to people who upload ipsws on file sharing websites. To great appreciation, both the betas of iOS 5 can be jailbroken, and when a firmware is jailbroken, a plethora of tweaks appear in Cydia. One such is StatusGoogle, and it lets you Google anything straight from iOS 5 notification center.

Apple introduced iOS 5 at WWDC 2011, earlier last month. One of the widely appreciated features of iOS 5, was the brand new Notification Center, which is somewhat inspired from the notification system on Android devices. To access the Notification Center in iOS 5, you have to swipe down from the top, a gesture similar to that on Android as well. The previous notification system of iOS was widely criticized, and Apple has addressed people's concerns with iOS 5 Notification Center.

StatusGoogle is the must have tweak for you, if you have jailbroken iOS 5 on your iOS device. If you're looking for a tutorial on how to jailbreak iOS 5 tethered, follow the guide we posted here.

StatusGoogle makes it so much easier to search your query. Simply pull down the Notification Center and enter whatever you want to search. StatusGoogle would automatically launch mobile Safari, which will display the relevant search results. To install this tweak on your iOS 5 jailbroken device, add this repository in Cydia: www.thebigboss.org/ios5beta

This tweak is highly recommended, do give this us a try and let us know what you think!
