Sn0wBreeze 2.8 Beta 5 Allows You To Install iOS 5 Beta 5 Without UDID
Friday, August 19, 2011
The well-known iPhone hacker and developer known as iH8sn0w has released earlier today Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 5 for all iOS devices which allows you to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 5 on Windows using custom IPSW files. It will also allow you to preserve your baseband while jailbreaking your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Not only that.. it does more!
Anyway, Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 5 actually solves this problem. Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 5 eliminates the need of requiring a UDID registration and Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 5 also removes the beta timer of iOS 5 Beta 5 meaning that you can use the beta even if its expiry date has passed.
In the mean time, only developers in Apple Developer Program can get their hand on betas of iOS 5. However, there’s already leaked files of IPSW of iOS 5 beta 5 available by searching on Google which allowed many non-developers to try the beta but the problem which came was of UDID. In case you’re creating a new developer account, you have to register the UDID of the device you would use to test the pre-released software for different iOS 5 device. Lately, Apple has been chasing many developers who started selling UDID activations on the internet and has already closed their accounts.
Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 5 changelog:
- Now supports iOS 5 beta 5 (9A5228d).
- Added Hacktivation ability.
- Added option to remove UDID developer check/Beta Timer.
- Finally decided to fix Baseband preservation standalone mode.
- Tethered devices are booted via iBooty.
- Re-added afc2.
