iPad 2 & iPhone 4S Have The Same Bootrom [ Jailbreak Starts! ]

MuscleNerd, the iPhone hacker and brain of the iPhone Dev Team, has just confirmed that both the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S have the same bootrom. This brings the first steps to begin jailbreaking both the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5 and bring untethered jailbreak for all devices.

What does this mean?
Well, this means that if someone has already jailbroken the iPad 2 then they’ll be able to jailbreak the iPhone 4S in the same way. MuscleNerd said that it’d at least be a starting point for jailbreaking the iPhone 4S.
We’ve already known that the Chronic Dev Team has 5 userland jailbreak exploits. They might have absolutely tried a one of them on the iPad 2 and it’s most probable worked on it.
P0sixninja tweeted that the jailbreak progress is going smoothly but they need the device to dump the bootrom. MuscleNerd replied that they don’t need the new device since they can try the jailbreak already on the iPad 2.

MuscleNerd words to P0sixninja points to some doubt that the team really has 5 userland jailbreak exploits.
Additionally, the popular hacker Stefan Esser known as i0n1c tweeted that the iOS 5 untethered jailbreakis already under work but it won’t be released until the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are jailbroken too. The point is to prevent loss of more exploits.
Well, everything looks to be good. The jailbreaking process of A5 devices has now started. We’ll just watch now and bring the updates to you. Don’t forget to follow us.
