iPhone 4S Jailbreak Possibilities [ Everything You Need To Know ]
Wednesday, October 05, 2011
You must be aware that Apple has announced the iPhone 4S earlier today in its Let’s Talk iPhone event. In case you’re an iPhone fanboy, you might want to discuss the possibilities of iPhone 4S jailbreak on iOS 5 untethered or tethered. In this post, we’re going to show you the possibility of an iOS 5 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S.

In case you were watching the iPhone 4S keynote event live or heard the news, you would know thatiOS 5 GM released today and iOS 5 public launch is coming on October 12th for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch customers.
The iPhone 4S comes with A5 dual-core processor which is already jailbroken on the iPad 2 using Comex’s JailbreakMe 3.0 userland tool. The A5 devices can be only jailbroken till iOS 4.3.3, the iPad 2 for example, since the Limera1n bootrom exploit can’t do anything to A5 devices.
You may ask yourself then why JailbreakMe 3.0 doesn’t jailbreak firmwares higher than iOS 4.3.3. That’s a good point. The reason behind that is that JailbreakMe is a userland jailbreak which can be patched by Apple in next iOS firmwares so it jailbreaks the recent iOS only then we forget it in next software updates.
Well, that’s not the only possibility for iPhone 4S jailbreak. We’ve previously heard that the popular iPhone hacker George Hotz, better known as Geohot, has his own bootrom exploit which he saved for newer iPhones. In that case, we may not need to userland jailbreaks as we’ll get iPhone 4S jailbreak forever.
The 5 userland exploits of the Chronic Dev Team are all untethered jailbreaks so that gives you untethered jailbreak on iOS 5 on all devices including iPad 2 and iPhone 4S once they arrive.
We’d wait now to see what happens. Let us know your thoughts below.
